Water Conservation in Action

Committed to providing a reliable water supply, we have a long, proactive history of water resources management. Today, we are focused on increasing our local water supplies by 70 percent. These local supplies include groundwater, stormwater capture, additional conservation, and 100 percent water recycling initiatives. Faced with extreme variability in precipitation from year to year, our city has long recognized water conservation as the core of multiple strategies to ensure a sustainable water supply. SoCal Water Story

LADWP in partnership with the Southern California Water Coalition (SCWC), created a video highlighting the work that Southern California’s water agencies are doing to transform the region’s water systems amidst a record drought.

‘Protecting Every Source: Southern California’s Water Story’ demonstrates how Southern California has become one of the most water-efficient regions in the world — diversifying our water supply portfolios to expand local water resources such as stormwater capture, water recycling and groundwater recharge while protecting the health of our foundational, imported supplies.
