Bishop Training Facility

Project Background
Bisected by Bishop Creek Canal in the northeast section of the City of Bishop, Inyo County, California east of U.S. Highway 6 (North Main Street) and North of Wye Road, this vacant LADWP property is the site of the future LADWP multi-use training facility and local construction yard. The facilities will offer workforce development resources, provide indoor and outdoor spaces for the construction and maintenance of typical LADWP infrastructure, as well as foster community well-being and economic growth for the region.

Scope of Work
Training Facility
The proposed multi-year development includes a two-story and single-story 59,000 sq. ft. training and administrative building. Additionally, there will be a 19,000 sq. ft. enclosed parking area and the building’s design will include an area of vegetation with trees, shrubs, or other plants, along Wye Road to preserve the natural surroundings.

o Public accessibility
o Classroom, office space, and large assembly room available for community use
o Charging hub for electric vehicles

Construction Yard
The proposed multi-use development includes a two-story 50,000 sq. ft. administrative building, several one-story buildings, and visitor, employee, and fleet parking. There will be yards to house construction and fleet equipment, and prefabricated warehouses, and open space for industrial sized equipment, along with 43,800 sq. ft. dedicated to landscape and outdoor space.
